Edward Karl Nummer, Jr. of Caro, age 82, went to see the Lord on the evening of Friday, February 17, 2023 at Tuscola County Medical Care Community. Eddie was born December 22, 1940 in Detroit, the son of the late Edward and Mable (Russell) Nummer. He spent his younger years in Detroit, learning the skill of brick laying from his father. Eddie went on to work for Cadillac Plastics and found his passion in designing and building. He moved to Caro and started his own business, Premier Building and Design. Eddie was a fantastic designer and could build any and everything. On June 13, 1987, Eddie married the former Joy Harvey. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, over thirty-five years, and countless dances. Eddie and Joy were members of the Caro Moose Lodge and the Northern Lights Dance Club. They loved to dance any chance they could. Eddie always enjoyed camping with his family and friends, especially in Sterling. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Joy; their daughters, Erika Craig and Alicia (Steven) Knowles; children, Edward (Marilyn) Nummer, Barbara (Tom) Semos, Ian (Lora) Nummer, Janine (Bennie) Maxwell, Michelle (Dean) Behrendt, and Christopher (Krystal Steimer) Nummer; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Warfield, Mary Knoblock, Ruby Wood, and Meredith Witkowski.

In keeping with Eddie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Caro Moose Lodge, 1366 East Caro Rd., Caro, Michigan 48723. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Joy Nummer, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, Michigan 48723.
