Bob was born January 24, 1940 in Detroit to John & Anna Szymanski and was later adopted by Roy & Agnes Schipinski of Filion. He graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak with the class of 1961 and enlisted with the United States Marine Corps shortly after, serving in Vietnam and the Philippines. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers and enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and playing cards. Bob also liked tending to his yard, bird watching, Old Westerns and military movies.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters and their husbands, Rebecca & Daniel Fowler of Millington, Brenda & Tim Gottschalk of Harrison Township; five grandchildren, Robert and Miranda Baker of Kentucky, Emerson, Atticus, and Mathias Fowler of Millington; one brother, Ronald Schipinski; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by numerous siblings.
