WILLIAM CHARLES KEYES
William Charles Keyes of Fairgrove, age 84, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side. Bill was born March 20, 1937, in Gilford, the son of the late Charles and Leona (Thayer) Keyes. He graduated from Fairgrove High School and went on to serve in the National Guard. On July 1, 1961, Bill married the love of his life, the former Nancy Kischnick. Together they shared almost 60 years, three children, and countless memories. Bill worked for Cliff Vennix at Auburn Bean and Grain. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and trips up to the cabin at Mid-Forest Lodge. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family, they were the lights of his life. He will be missed dearly.
Bill leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Nancy; children: Mike Keyes, Beth Keyes, Lyle Keyes (Brooke VanHoost); grandchildren: Tara Keyes (Derek Foote), Chris (Stephanie) Richardson, Victoria Keyes, Mitchell (Kara) Keyes, Hannah Keyes (Shane Schmidt), Dakota Hicks, Kennedy (John) Clark, Sarah (Dakota) Gangler; great-grandchildren: Brenden Simms, Hunter Milam, Sawyer Richardson, Lorelai Milam, Jaxson Richardson, Oliver Keyes, Sophie Richardson, Finnegan Foote, Liam Foote, Avi Keyes, Charlotte Clark; siblings: Carson Keyes, Peggy Streeter; sisters-in-law: Judy Kischnick, Violet Schafsnitz; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was welcomed home to heaven by his sisters, Bertha Johnson, Alice Cardinal, and Dorothy Latterell.
A Life Celebration for Bill will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge and Center. Full details will be announced closer to the Life Celebration. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society Tuscola Relay for Life and American Lung Association.
