Daniel Lee Krause went to sleep in death on August 16, 2019, from complications of heart and kidney failure at Crouse Hospital in upstate New York.
Dan was born July 30, 1951, in Bay City to John Krause Jr. (Bumpa) and Lena (Ross) Krause. He married his farm girl, Sherryl Darbee (Mrs. Danny) of Caro on August 8, 1970. He was the youngest of three boys, Gary (Elaine) and James (Deena) Krause. He was blessed to have raised three children, Judd Daniel (Anne), Luke Dan’L (LaCinda) and his baby cakes Angela Micheryl (Richard) Reissig. He took pride in his grandchildren, Judd Jr. (J.J.), Jaxx, Lauren, Levi Krause, Zachary Reissig, Olivia and Jessica Goss.
Dan worked as a leader for Grey Iron Foundry (Powertrain) in Saginaw for almost 39 years, before retiring in 2008. In tandem with working at GM, he ran ambulance for Collon Funeral Home for a number of years as a licensed E.M.T. After retiring, he went to school to become a home inspector. His company was known as Krause House Inspection (KHI). He truly enjoyed doing this for seven years. Dan enjoyed scuba diving, taking cruises, boating with small jet boats to his big 32’, watching NASCAR, and taking trips with his wife in their ’91 Jeep Wrangler.
But his greatest joy was serving his God Jehovah as an elder first in Caro, then in Bad Axe and finally in the South Syracuse congregation at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed going in the ministry for many years even before his baptism on March 27, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren, his brother Jim and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Gary.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1900 W. Fayette St., Syracuse, NY.
