By Faith, Hope and Love, Tim H. Kaul of Reese, age 68, today lives with Jesus in the mansion that God prepared for him and all believers in Heaven. He was born May 13, 1950, in Saginaw to Luella (Halmann) Kaul-Markel of Saginaw and the late Albert Kaul who predeceased him in 1962. Tim was baptized in June of 1950 so that he may live with Christ forever. He died from health complications and cancer Friday afternoon, May 3, 2019, at his home, surrounded by all his family. He was a 1968 graduate of Frankenmuth High School and in 1972 received his Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University and his Master of Business Administration degree in 1979. He married the former Carleen Bickel on September 8, 1973, in Frankentrost. She survives him. Tim was employed in the grocery business for ten years and taught at Buena Vista High School for 32 years. He was a lifelong member of the Buena Vista Education Association, the Michigan Education Association, and the National Education Association. After his retirement, he worked for ten years at both Abele’s Greenhouse in Saginaw and Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth. Tim enjoyed gardening, yard work, woodworking, camping, any outside activities, and playing euchre and board games with his family. He loved nature, especially sunrises, sunsets, and full moons. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese where he served on various boards and committees. His favorite saying was “Faith, Hope, and Love; and the greatest of these is Love”
Surviving besides his wife Carleen and mother Luella, is his son, Kyle of Grand Rapids; daughter, Katrina of Reese and three grandchildren: Jordan, Gavin and Dominick, with whom he loved doing projects; two brothers: Dennis (Gladys) Kaul, Dalton (Marlene) Kaul, and was predeceased by brother Karl (Nancy) Kaul; sister, Deanna Frank (Eugene “Smokey”) whom he called the most caring, loving and passionate sister that anyone could wish for in life; mother-in-law, Lillian Bickel of Frankenmuth; sisters-in-law: Eunice (John) Smith of Northville and Janine (Chuck) Lewis of Loveland, Kansas; brother-in-law, James (Shelly) Bickel of Frankenmuth; and many God children, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Daniel Burhop and Vicar Timothy Sheridan will both officiate with burial to follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Tim’s family received friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Trinity Lutheran Church and School or Henry Ford Cancer Institute in memory of Tim Kaul.
