Blaze destroys barn near Millington

A fire Tuesday night destroyed a metal-walled pole barn in Tuscola County’s Millington Township. The structure was owned by William Stacey of Arbela Township, who said the blaze caused about $40,000 in damage to the building and its contents. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby house owned by Stacey, and to the metal grain-storage bins, in background, on a farm operated by Jake and Willard Petzold. Firefighters from multiple departments helped fight the fire. Stacey said he plans to meet with firefighters for their opinion on what caused the blaze. (Photo by Tom Gilchrist)
