Genevieve (Vassallo) Bukowski, age  91 of Silverwood, Michigan passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, Florida.

She was born October 13, 1922 in Detroit,  daughter to the late  Dominic and Margaret (Koss) Opalewski.  Genevieve married  Angelo Vassallo, he preceded her in death in 1972.  In 1973, she married Sylvester Bukowski, he preceded her in death in 2003.  She was a homemaker, farmer and enjoyed crafts and playing cards with her card club for 53 years.  She also enjoyed traveling and spending her winters in Holiday Florida since 1976.  She is survived by: Shirley & Leonard Lucik (daughter) of North Branch, Richard & Mable Vassallo (son) of Silverwood, Sharon & Roger Bukowski (daughter) of Palm Bay, Fl., Ronald & Kathy Vassallo (son) of Fairgrove, Shirley Robinson (step-daughter) of Caseville, Ronald & Marlene Bukowski (step-son) of Metamora, Jane & Robert Deachin (step- daughter) of Lake Orion, Virginia Schaffer (step-daughter) of Palm Bay, Fl., Richard & Virginia Bukowski (step-son) of Lake Orion, Roger & Sharon Bukowski (step-son) of Palm Bay, Fl., 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sisters Geraldine Hintz and Betty Hansen. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Christopher Parish – St. Joseph Campus, 315 Ohmer Road, Mayville, Michigan  at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Dennis Kucharcryk officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Wilmot. Visitation was held on Friday 1pm to 8pm at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette and Saturday 10am to 11am at St. Joseph Campus in Mayville. Memorials may be given to the family’s discretionary fund.
