Editor, Advertiser:
I would like to send out a great big thank you to a few businesses and people who were so helpful after my farm accident on Oct. 29.
To Linal and the Fairgrove Fire Dept., Vassar MMR and 911 dispatch for their speedy response and comforting and calming actions
Dr. DeBeaubien and staff at Covenant and the visiting nurses from VNA Cass City for their caring and expertise
To my big brother Darwin, who was in the middle of his own harvest, came to finish mine
To my nephews, Neil and Luke and to C&G Reif Trucking for hauling corn; to Star of the West for generously drying my last corn to speed up harvest.
To Frankenmuth Credit Union for allowing my wife to stay home to take care of me; to my nephew Andy and good friends Greg and Wayne for doing my fall tillage.
To my niece and godchild, Nurse Heide, sisters Sharon, Lavonne and Scharlan for their visits and stern advice; to my oldest brother, Darrel and Dad for keeping cattle fed and clean.
To my church family at St. Michael’s and all our close friends, neighbors and relatives for their food, visits, cards and offers to help in any way.
To my loving and caring wife, Cheryl and my three sons, Justin, Tanner and Mason for putting up with me, helping with all the above and keeping day-to-day operations at home and on the farm running smoothly.
And finally, to God and my mommy who looked down and maybe together decided it was not yet my time. I must still have work to do and things to see. I just wanted your readers to know that the kind, compassionate human spirit is still alive. May the joy of this CHRISTmas season and the hope of a safe, happy and prosperous New Year be with you all.
Sincerely,
Rodney Hecht
