To Caro Patrolman Paul Strasz and Patrolman Harding:
As a longtime resident of Tuscola County, this is my sincere appreciation for the handling of the extremely dangerous and stress-filled situation Wednesday, April 14, involving Patrick J. Henderson. Your police training and expertise in this potential tragedy allowed a peaceful resolution to what could have easily resulted in the death of Mr. Henderson. Your cautious restraint of the use of force successfully avoided injury to Mr. Henderson, or his death.
I hope that Mr. Henderson also realizes how fortunate he was that you two were involved. He should certainly give his apology and support for the actions taken by you two Caro patrolmen. The police officers’ responsibility to serve and protect the public was most evident in your actions and restraint. For this, we can all be thankful.
Had personnel of your caliber or even near your caliber handled my son’s situation in Sandusky on Feb. 27, the results would surely not have been the death of my son. The part-time officer employed by the Sandusky Police Department shot at my son 10 times, hitting him five times before ceasing fire in a suspected stop of DUI. Life is too valuable and important to have it wasted in such a useless manner.
