Millington Community Schools is worth it! When we ask our voters to go to the polls on Tuesday, May 4 to support the renewal of the Headlee Non Homestead Millage, we will ask our voters to support the best school system in Tuscola County.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that has been fiscally responsible over the last seven years, raising their fund balance from $29,000 to $1.5 million while not cutting programs and focusing on student achievement; and, has done so by eliminating waste from the budget, sharing non-instructional services with surrounding districts, and consolidating buildings and responsibilities in order to balance the budget on a year-to-year basis.

We will ask our voters to support the many unselfish teachers, faculty and staff members who have made personal sacrifices in order to ensure the success of Millington Community Schools.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that has Highly Qualified and Certified teachers in every subject area including Physical Education, Biology and Science. And, a school system that has passed State and Federal audits at the 100% level to ensure the high quality of classroom instruction and compliance with the No Child Left Behind Act.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that is the State of Michigan’s largest user of Michigan Virtual High School and online learning; a school system where the students have the opportunity to take everything from Oceanography to Psychology.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that teaches reading and writing as formal subjects all the way up through the eighth grade and foreign language all the way down through the fifth grade.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that offers pre-school and Head Start as well as night school and an adult GED Program that has a partnership with Michigan Works! to re-train students for future employment.

We will ask our voters to support a school system that has championship athletic teams and a number one-rated band.

We will ask our voters to support the total school experience at Millington Community Schools.

Sincerely,

Lawrence R. Kroswek, Superintendent
