Health care insurance reform has been a crucial issue in the United States for 70 years. As the years have passed, more and more nations in the world have improved their health care delivery system.
The U.S. has pandered to privatizing, profiteering and piratizing by profit-driven health insurance companies, pharmacies and the medical equipment/technology corporations to the tune of 2-1/2 times more than the next nation for health expenses by American citizens while lagging behind in the health of these same citizens.
We pay the highest costs while ranking 39th in the world. We also rank 39th in infant mortality prevention and 34th in the care of our elders compared to the global nations, ranking the U.S. far below many third-world countries. Source: WHO, several medical universities in the U.S. as well as abroad. This contradicts Talk Radio who would have U.S. citizens believe we have the best health care in the world.
On another subject, all the proposed health reform bills as well as our existing law mandates reimbursement for prescriptions for such drugs as Viagra and Cialis. Perhaps if these drugs were not paid for by our tax dollars, there would be far less unwanted pregnancies in this nation.
Points to ponder . . .

Lynne
For the first part I think that you are spot on.
As for the second part, I really doubt that most of the unwanted pregnancy's of young people still in high school and such have much to do with needing medicine to help them along.

Hey if your an American isn't coming in 34th or 39th in any worldwide issue affecting the citizen's of a nation more than good enough? In fact why would we even be competing, last place and we could still be proud!!
