INDIANFIELDS TOWNSHIP — Prosecutors are expected to release more information on a double stabbing that occurred Saturday near Caro.
The stabbing took place at a residence on East Dayton Road, between Ryan and Weeden roads around 1 p.m. Michigan State Police troopers arrived on the scene at 1:09 p.m. where they discovered a 37-year-old male and 33-year-old female that had been stabbed with a knife.
The victims were allegedly stabbed by a 34-year-old Caro woman. Authorities have not released names of the people involved in the attack or a motive.
The two victims were transported to Caro Community Hospital for treatment. The male was treated and released. The female was stabilized and then transported to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw for surgery, where she was listed in stable condition.
The 34-year-old suspect was transported to Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City for non-life threatening injuries and then sent to Health Source in Saginaw for evaluation.
Tuscola County Prosecutor Mark Reene said information that can be released is limited at this point and he is awaiting the suspect to be released to local authorities.
The incident remains under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Caro Police Department, Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department and Mobile Medical Response units from Caro, Fairgrove and Cass City.
